Recently, Warner Bros. Games announced a project named Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, a new role-playing game exclusively for mobile platforms. The game is set to be globally released in 2023.

Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will be co-developed and published by NetherRealm Studios - the very creators of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Hence, this mobile game will own the official copyright and inherit most of the essence of this monumental game series.
It is revealed that the majority of characters throughout the history of Mortal Kombat will appear in this mobile game. Players will assemble a team consisting of famous Mortal Kombat characters and embark on a journey to thwart the dark and dangerous threat that is wreaking havoc on the world in the game.
Previously, Mortal Kombat Mobile, since its launch, has garnered over 150 million installations on both Android and iOS platforms. This is the latest version of the game developed specifically for mobile devices. Celebrating 30 years since the inception of Mortal Kombat, the special edition Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will serve as a significant milestone for the entire game series.
