* Preparation steps:
- Your computer must be connected to the Internet.
- You already have a signed PDF file and now just need to set a password for it.
Follow the steps below to add a PDF password online using the Smallpdf application.
Step 1: Access the online tool Smallpdf to add a password HERE
Step 2: Click Choose file or drag and drop the PDF file to upload it to the website as described in the image below:
Step 3: Select the path to the file you want to set a password for -> and click Open.
Step 4: You will see the file automatically uploaded to the website -> then you need to enter a password to set for the PDF file:
Please re-enter your password once more, then click on Encrypt PDF to secure the document.
Once you click on the Encrypt PDF button, the application interface will display the Encrypting status as shown below:
Notice the small interface asking whether you want to save the password you just set for the PDF file or not - you can select Never to decline.
Step 5: After the Smallpdf online password addition process is completed, click on the Download icon as described below to download the password-protected file to your computer.
After encrypting your PDF file with Foxit Reader, it will prompt you to enter the password to open the file.
Congratulations on successfully adding a password to your PDF online using Smallpdf. The process to encrypt your PDF as instructed is straightforward. Simply upload your PDF file to encrypt it using the PDF protection tool. Then, enter and confirm the password you've set, and finally, click the Encrypt PDF button to finish.
