Park Hang Seo started as a player for the South Korean National Team in the 1970s and 1980s, then went on to coach several small football clubs in Korea. However, his most significant impact was as assistant to Coach Guus Hiddink in 2002, a successful year for the South Korean team as they reached the World Cup semi-finals.

♦ However, perhaps you don't know, before these victories, Mr. Park was not the first choice for the Vietnamese team. He also had failures at clubs in Korea. So what made a 'Special Man', a skillful 'Leader' like him when coming to Vietnam?

A 'sleeping' teacher but full of dedication
Unlike other coaches, Mr. Park Hang Seo is someone who always stands by the team from meals, sleep to supporting water bottles on the field. He often stands close to the touchline, directs tactics closely for players on the field, he builds a suitable playing style, familiar short play, builds an extremely solid defensive 'wall'.
Not only that, he is like a father, a companion with the players. And like that, the image of a simple, 'strange' man from South Korea has won the affection of over 90 million Vietnamese people.
As for us, are we feeling proud of the Korean language we are pursuing, are we hoping one day to set foot in the beautiful country of South Korea - the homeland of talented coach Park Hang Seo.
