As someone who has used the Philips XC4201/01 cordless vacuum, my insights shared in this article reflect my personal experiences with the product. The listed advantages and disadvantages will help you make a more informed decision when considering its purchase. How convenient is a cordless vacuum, and does it compensate for its drawbacks? Let's find out!
Should You Buy a Vacuum Cleaner?
One of the main concerns for consumers when contemplating a vacuum cleaner purchase is the price. However, affordable vacuum cleaners are increasingly available in the market, with some priced as low as 600,000 VND, ensuring effective cleaning comparable to corded models like the Deerma DX118C.

Compared to traditional manual sweeping, vacuum cleaners excel in thorough cleaning. Especially with fine dust, hair, or tightly stuck dirt around wet areas or near bathroom doors. Traditional methods often require hands-on effort to gather hair from under the floor or manually remove tangled hair from the brush. Whichever method is used, our hands come into direct contact with dust and bacteria. Therefore, using vacuum cleaners helps bypass this step.
Moreover, there are various types of vacuum cleaners or robot vacuum cleaners that come with the convenient feature of both vacuuming and mopping in one run. However, the price tag for such models is quite high, ranging from 5 – 10 million VND. If you have the means, using these automatic robot models would be a better choice.
Impressions of the Philips XC4201/01 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
The Philips XC4201/01 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a wireless cleaning device from the renowned Dutch brand, Philips. Currently priced at 4,810,000 VND, it sits at a moderate price point compared to other cordless vacuum models. However, based on my observations, it may not entirely justify its price.
Convenient Wireless Design but Small Dustbin Capacity
The product boasts a compact, wireless design in an elegant white color and can stand on its own, saving storage space. Moreover, weighing only 2.2kg, it is suitable for both men and women, facilitating easy and light cleaning without much effort.

However, the product's dustbin has a very small capacity of only 0.25 liters, lower than the average of other cordless or corded vacuum models (0.3 – 1.5 liters). If you have pets at home, you may need to empty the dustbin constantly during vacuuming to continue usage.
Effective Cleaning Capability
In addition to the main dust suction head, the machine comes with two other types of suction heads: a crevice tool for cleaning narrow gaps, car interiors, and a dusting brush to minimize hair tangling during cleanup. The vacuum also integrates a dual dustbin system to segregate large debris at the head, while fine dust is filtered through a 3-layer filter and directed into the handheld bin, preventing 99% of fine dust and bacteria from being released into the air after vacuuming.

However, the Philips XC4201/01 cordless vacuum can only handle dry dust and is not suitable for wet or spilled liquids. This limitation is common among compact and convenient cordless vacuum cleaners, making it a minor concern.
Long Charging Time but Short Usage Duration
This is the second aspect that disappoints me about the Philips XC4201/01 vacuum cleaner. The machine has a 2500mAh battery capacity, requiring an average 5 hours of charging for only 30 minutes in standard mode and 18 minutes in boost mode.

Most other cordless vacuum models I researched have a similar drawback, with some offering a 3.5-hour charge for 30-40 minutes of usage (such as Electrolux WQ61-1EDBF, Panasonic MC-CG371AN46 275W, etc.)
Final Verdict on Philips XC4201/01 Cordless Vacuum
Based on the above reviews, each individual will make their own decision. However, personally, I find the price of nearly 5 million VND for a vacuum cleaner with limited functions and a small dustbin, like the Electrolux WQ61-1EDBF, to be unreasonable.
At this price point, you may consider other cleaning devices such as the Fiko F6 Pro V2 robot vacuum or the budget-friendly handheld vacuum Deerma DX118C (if you only need it for regular household vacuuming purposes),...
