Next, describe the progression of the match so that the judges can gain a deeper insight into the event. You can introduce the participants, the dramatic scenes that occurred, and the winner of the match.

Finally, explain why it was interesting. Avoid sentimental expressions; you can present your thoughts on each player's sporting style and make a general assessment.

1.2. Sample 1 – Describe an exciting competition or sporting event you have witnessed

One of the finest methods to maintain physical and mental fitness is to play sports. Sports are incredibly important to human life. People who take part in the festivities get a boost of energy from it, and the delights are beyond words. Additionally, it aids in the development of a certain talent that is applicable to daily life.

A variety of athletic activities are also planned, with the main goals being to foster camaraderie among the participants, encourage them to play more, and help them advance their knowledge, proficiency, and mastery in their chosen sports. One of the most thrilling sports is basketball, and I like playing in the games that our institution hosts. I watched a thrilling indoor basketball competition a few months ago. The colleges in our city planned the event. Regretfully, my injury sustained during practice the day before the tournament prevented me from taking part in the contest.

The indoor sports court of our college served as the venue for the intercollegiate basketball tournament. The last competition was held the specified day in the evening. Nearly all of the city’s students came to see the tournament. They felt compelled to participate in the championship match since the prior matchups were so thrilling. On the day of the tournament, our indoor sporting gallery was packed with spectators who had gathered early to secure their seats before others took them.

The fight had a lot of appeal. With 25 points, our squad has outscored the opposition, who only had 17 points. Our college team prevailed in the game by a significant margin, mostly due to the players’ excellent preparation, knowledge of one another, and teamwork in winning the competition.

As a team member, the match was quite thrilling for me, and I completely disregarded my injuries sustained during an attempt to shoot the ball into the net, which left my right leg injured. For those of us who were part of the team, it was a victory.

1.3. Sample 2 – Describe an exciting competition or sporting event you have witnessed

I have a chance to see the AFC U-23 Championship championship game on television in 2018. Unfortunately, the wintertime weather on the day of the competition was appalling. Changzhou was the venue. Because of the severe snowfall, it was difficult for the crowd to recognize the Uzbekistan squad despite their white uniforms.

To further the competition, it was a hard-fought soccer encounter between the two nations until, fifteen minutes into the contest, the Uzbekistan side scored the opening goal. Following that, the Vietnam side made many unsuccessful attempts to make up ground on the score.

But when a player from Uzbekistan fouled, our team was awarded a free kick. The coach decided to use Quang Hai as his trump card to make the kick at that precise moment. Since he scored the first goal in the final minutes of the first half, it was not surprising that the mood was high.

As the second half approached, players from both nations were moving more quickly since they were all focused on winning. I could sense the tension and excitement on the field as I watched the TV. However, Uzbekistan’s second goal from a corner gave the Vietnamese cause for concern. The guys’ anguish at losing the game was evident to me; they had gone so far.

Vietnam concluded the tournament as the runner-up. While I felt a bit disappointed that my country didn't win, I was proud of the players for giving their best in the competition.

However, when a Uzbekistan player committed a foul, our team was awarded a direct free kick. The coach decided to use Quang Hai as the trump card to take the shot at that precise moment. His first goal in the dying minutes of the first half was no surprise as emotions soared high.

As the second half approached, players from both nations moved faster as everyone focused on victory. I could feel the tension and excitement on the field while watching on TV. However, Uzbekistan's second goal from a corner kick made Vietnam worried. I clearly saw the anguish of the boys when they lost the game; they had come a long way.

Vietnam ended the tournament as the runner-up. Although I was somewhat disappointed that my country did not win, I am still proud of the players who gave their all for the tournament.
