With Quicktime Player, users can easily capture MacBook screen. To record iPhone, iPad screen with QuickTime on Mac OS X, you'll need to prepare a USB cable, your Mac must be running the latest OS X version, and iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch) must be running the latest iOS versions.
Here's how to record iPhone screen with QuickTime on Mac OS X.
Capturing iPhone and iPad Screen with QuickTime on Mac OS X
Step 1: Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac.
Step 2: Open QuickTime Player on Mac OS X, located in the /Applications/ folder.
Step 3: In the QuickTime Player window, click on File then select New Movie Recording.
Step 4: On the video recording screen, hover over the active window to control the recording screen and volume. Then, click on the small arrow icon next to the red record button to display screen recording options such as camera and microphone - from this list, select the name of the connected iPhone or iPad for Camera and Microphone.
Step 5: At this point, you'll see the Movie Recording screen switch to the touch screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Unlock your iOS device as usual. The Mac screen will display the iPhone screen ready for screen recording. To begin recording the iPhone screen with QuickTime on Mac OS X, click on the red Record button.
Step 6: To stop recording the iPhone screen, press the Stop button at the top right corner of the Mac menu bar or hover over the video and select the Stop button.
Step 7: Additionally, if desired, you can edit the video on QuickTime, or to save the screen recording video, access File and select Save.
Recorded iPhone screen videos are saved in .mov video format. When you open a .mov video file, it will typically open in QuickTime. However, you can also edit the video using QuickTime, iMovie, Final Cut, convert it to other video formats, upload it to any online sharing platform, embed it in presentations, or use it for any purpose you desire.
If you want to directly record audio from iPhone, select iPhone as the source input for Microphone. Otherwise, you'll only record the iPhone screen, while the microphone will capture audio from the built-in Mac microphone.
Screen recording videos of iPhone using QuickTime on Mac OS X have a resolution of 1080 × 1920 in portrait mode and 1920x1080 in landscape mode.

iOS devices must run newer iOS versions, from iOS 8 onwards, and Macs must run modern Mac OS X versions, from version 10.10 onwards.
If your system or iOS device doesn't meet the requirements, with older iOS or Mac OS X versions, you can use Reflector or third-party apps to record the screen.
Of course, on newer devices and Macs, you don't need third-party app support. Instead, users can record iPhone screen with QuickTime on Mac OS X, as well as other iOS devices, more easily and with higher video quality.
