But it's disheartening when you lose high-quality photos or videos from your Huawei smartphone due to accidental deletion. How to Retrieve Deleted Photos and Videos on Huawei Phones
Method 1: Recover Deleted Photos/Videos on Huawei Phones from Recently Deleted Folder
When you delete a photo or video on your Huawei phone, they are not permanently removed from the device. Huawei phones have a useful folder in the photo library called Recently Deleted. Deleted photos and videos exist in this album for 30 days. Therefore, you can check what you've deleted in the Recently Deleted album on your Huawei phone and proceed to recover them from there.
Method 2: Retrieve Deleted Photos/Videos on Huawei Phones from Huawei Backup App
All Huawei phone models come with a backup app pre-installed. You can easily retrieve deleted photos or videos from the backup on your device with the following steps:
- Open the Backup app on your Huawei phone.
- Tap on Restore.
- Choose the location where the photos/videos will be restored: internal memory, SD card, USB.

Are you using Huawei HiSuite? Huawei HiSuite is an intelligent Android device manager developed by Huawei. One of its features is the ability to back up your Huawei smartphone.
If you have enabled the HiSuite backup option, you can recover deleted photos and videos on your Mac or Windows computer.
- Open HiSuite on your computer.
- Click on Restore to access the recovery window.
- Select the backup file > Pictures or Videos> Restore.
Method 4: Recover Deleted Data on Huawei Phones Using FoneLab for Android Software
Download the FoneLab for Android software to your computer and connect your Huawei phone to the computer using a USB cable. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is enabled on your Huawei phone.

Step 1: Open FoneLab for Android and connect your Huawei phone
When launching the software, you'll see 3 tabs on the main interface. For the purpose of recovering deleted photos and videos on a Huawei smartphone, select the Android Data Recovery tab.
Step 2: Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Huawei phone
After connecting your Huawei phone to the computer, a wizard window will appear prompting you to enable USB Debugging mode on your Huawei device. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Step 3: Select the type of files you want to scan
The next window lists all the files that can be restored. Choose Gallery and Picture Library to recover deleted photos, Videos to retrieve deleted videos on your Huawei device, and click on Next.
Next, the software requires your phone to be rooted for deep scanning. To do this, click on Rooting Tools and it will open a webpage providing you with a tool called KingoRoot to complete the task. You can choose Normal Scan if you don't want to root the device.
After rooting, the deep scanning process will begin. It may take about 15 minutes to complete.
Step 4: Browse through the deleted photos/videos you want to recover
After the scanning process is complete, the program will organize the results into various categories. You can view recoverable files in the Videos, Gallery, and PictureLibrary sections. You can enable the Only display the deleted item(s) option at the top of the screen to show only deleted photos and videos.
Step 5: Restore deleted photos/videos from Huawei memory
Once you've found the desired files, check the photos and videos you want to recover. After making your selection, click on the Recover button at the bottom right corner of the screen. In the pop-up window, choose the location where you want to save the recovered photos and videos.
Finally, press the Recover button to initiate the recovery process.
Method 5: Retrieve Deleted Photos on Huawei Phone from Google Photos
Google Photos retains deleted photos in the Trash or Bin folder for 60 days. Therefore, if you've synced your photo library with Google Photos, you can recover them. After 60 days, all photos will be permanently deleted.

- On your Huawei phone, open the Google Photos app.
- Tap on the Menu icon in the top left corner of the screen.
- Click on Trash or Bin.
- Select the photos you want to restore and press Restore. The photos will return to the Gallery app on your Huawei phone.
