Removing Restrictions in Your Antivirus Program
Access your antivirus or antimalware software. If you're encountering difficulties installing Discord or any other application due to a JavaScript error, such as 'a JavaScript error occurred in the main process,' your antivirus software might be obstructing the installation process. This can be rectified by adding an exclusion for the installer.
- If you're utilizing Windows Security, included with Windows at no cost, input security into the search bar and select Windows Security.
- The subsequent steps will guide you through unblocking an installer using Windows Security, although the menu options in your antivirus suite may vary.
Navigate to the Virus and threat protection section. This provides an overview of your antivirus settings.
Press Manage settings. This will open up the settings for your antivirus protection.
