3. Sample Speaking Part 2: Recall a memorable advertisement
Listen to the Podcast of IELTS Speaking Part 2 - Describe an advertisement you remember well:
I remember seeing an advertisement some time ago which left a strong impression on me. I believe it was at a friend's place when I first encountered it. I was flicking through different channels on his TV when I stumbled upon the promotional video for a washing machine. It was a rather prestigious-sounding brand, possibly Chinese? I couldn't be certain as my entire focus was on the events unfolding in the video clip.
In the ad, a woman demonstrated putting various items into the washing machine. After the machine cleaned these items, she removed them and presented them on the screen. It was evident that each item became significantly cleaner and shinier after the wash. However, what made the ad remarkable was the increasingly imaginative nature of the items.
Initially, the woman washed ordinary clothes, but then she placed a crow into the machine, and to everyone's surprise, the jet-black crow emerged as a pristine white dove! Eventually, the final item was an extremely filthy motorcycle that transformed into a sparkling clean vehicle, hardly distinguishable from a new one.
I was captivated by the advertisement as I had never seen such creativity before. Reflecting on it now, I am certain that the sales of this washing machine soared thanks to this ad.

1. What attributes contribute to the effectiveness of an advertisement?
