Samsung has unveiled the newest version of Samsung Internet Browser, the web browser available on the company's Android devices. While most users may prefer browsers like Google Chrome, Samsung has consistently enhanced its alternative solution, and the latest 14.0 update, currently in beta, introduces some commendable improvements.
For those concerned about privacy, Samsung Internet now comes with the 'Smart Anti Tracking' feature, capable of detecting and automatically blocking tracking websites. Additionally, there is a new control panel in the settings section that provides a summary of recent security and privacy events in the browser. This page will display the number of ads, URL redirects, and pop-up windows blocked in the past few days.
Moreover, multitasking capabilities with Samsung Internet 14.0 have been improved with the addition of App Pair. Samsung's App Pair-compatible phone models will now be able to link two sessions of the Samsung browser, allowing users to view web content in split-screen format. This enables users to watch tutorials while reading recipes or easily compare prices when shopping online.
Moreover, if you're using a Galaxy foldable device, you can experience Flex Mode, allowing you to watch videos on the upper half of the screen while video controls are displayed on the lower half for a more comfortable viewing experience. Flex mode will be automatically activated when you play videos in full-screen mode.
With Samsung Internet 14.0, you can customize your online browsing experience by applying your favorite font or a font that you find easier to read. This feature is found in the Labs section of the browser. Other notable additions in the latest update of Samsung Internet include support for handwriting with the S Pen on the Galaxy Tab S7 series (a feature announced as part of the OneUI 3.1 update), improved reading mode, and a new translation utility supporting 18 languages.
After the beta testing phase, the Samsung Internet 14.0 update will officially launch in April. If you're using Samsung's web browser, you'll receive a notification when a new version is available.
