You know, it may sound surprising, but I receive apologies quite frequently. This is because I work as a teacher, and my students sometimes tend to be quite lazy, you know, not paying attention in class, not completing their homework, and so on. However, there's one apology that truly left an impact on me, which I'll explain further later.

Let me recount what happened just last month. I had a class of 15 students, and we communicated through a Facebook group where I would make announcements and the students would ask questions regarding the materials.

One morning, I posted an IELTS Reading exercise, specifically instructing the students to skim through it and look up the words in advance so that we could work on it together in class later. After some time, a student asked a question, indicating confusion with the instructions, which I had delivered clearly and beautifully. Being a bit sassy by nature, I told the student to check his reading comprehension skills and review my instructions. The student immediately apologized, but unfortunately, that was not the end of the story. I later discovered that in the previous class, I had assigned the same exercise as homework, instructing the class to complete the entire thing.

I felt embarrassed and sincerely apologized to him. Fortunately, he was not someone to hold grudges, and now we can all look back on it and have a good laugh.
