 VNeID is the official electronic identification application introduced and put into operation on 18/7/2020 by the National Population Data Center under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. It is developed based on the population database, electronic identification, and verification platform, designed to be compatible with Android and IOS mobile devices. This app is highly convenient as it integrates various paper documents into the electronic identification account, reducing the need to carry multiple documents when dealing with government agencies.

After the download is complete, click on the VNeID app on the home screen or select 'Open' on CH Play or the App Store to start the registration process.

- Step 1: The interface will display usage notifications => Click on the 'I agree to the privacy policy and terms of use of the application and services' checkbox => Click 'Start using'

- Step 2: Choose 'Register' for an account

+ If you already have an activated account => choose 'Login'
+ If the account is not activated yet => select 'Activate electronic identification account'
+ If you don't have an account yet => Click 'Register'

- Step 3: Enter the account registration information

You need to enter accurate personal identification and phone number => Click 'Register'. Then, the system will display the QR code scanning interface for the chip-embedded citizen ID card => Place the QR code on the chip-embedded ID card into the frame.

There will be 02 cases as follows:

+ If the QR code scan is successful => The system will automatically fill in the information from the chip-embedded card's QR code into the account registration form.
+ If 'Unable to scan QR code' => The system will automatically switch to the account registration information input interface => You proceed to enter the missing information.

Then click 'Register'.

The registration system will send a request to verify the information to the National Population Database of the Ministry of Public Security:

+ If the information is secure and meets the requirements => You will receive an SMS to your registered phone number for authentication. Confirm and set a password for your VNeID account.
+ If the requirements are not met => There will be a notification suggesting adjusting the information.

After completing the verification, you have successfully registered for a VNeID account.

- Step 4: Login to your VNeID account. Once registration is complete, log in to the application to use. Log in with your personal ID card number and password => Click 'Login'.

+ The screen displays Level 1 account registration instructions, click 'Start' => select 'I understand'.
+ Scan the QR code on the chip-embedded ID card => When personal information is displayed, click 'Continue'
+ Capture a portrait photo as instructed.

- Step 6: Activate the account

On the initial screen upon accessing the app, choose 'Activate electronic identification account' => Enter the identification number and phone number => Click 'Submit request' for the system to check the account level.

+ VNeID app account => Displays the notification 'Your account has not been electronically identified'.
+ Level 1/Level 2 accounts but already activated => Notification 'Your account has been activated'.
+ Level 1/Level 2 accounts not activated => The app will check the device in use for activation.
