Until now, we've always understood that the keyboard is the tool for typing text on a computer. However, if your typing speed can be compared to that of a turtle, or if the keyboard suddenly malfunctions, there are other solutions to help you simply open your mouth and get the job done. This article will introduce some online applications that allow you to convert speech into Vietnamese text on your computer.

1. Google Docs
Google's suite of online applications has probably become familiar to everyone. With Google Docs (or Google Document), this application not only has features almost identical to Microsoft Word but also has another very powerful ability, which is voice input.
Step 1: Ensure that the microphone is connected to the computer.
Step 2: Access Google Docs, log in, and create a new document.

Step 3: Click on Tools, select Voice typing.

Step 4: A microphone icon will appear on the left side of the screen. Here, choose Vietnamese as the language, then click on this microphone icon to start recording your voice.

If a pop-up asking to use the microphone appears, select Allow.
Step 5: Speak into the microphone, and what you say will be automatically converted into corresponding text.

* Note:
- Speak clearly, not too fast for the application to convert more accurately.
- Currently, Google Docs does not support converting speech to text for Vietnamese punctuation such as periods, commas, etc. Therefore, you will need to input these punctuation marks manually.
2. SpeechTexter
Another online application that allows speech-to-text conversion is SpeechTexter. This application supports dozens of different languages, including Vietnamese, which is why it's included in this article. However, it seems that on computers, SpeechTexter only works with the Chrome browser.
The usage is very simple, just follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect the microphone to the computer.
Step 2: Ensure that the connected microphone is selected as the default recording device of the browser.
Step 3: Access SpeechTexter.
Step 4: On the top right corner, choose the Vietnamese language.

Step 5: Click on Start to begin recording your speech.

For the first-time use, the browser will display a pop-up requesting microphone access. Click on Allow.
Step 6: Speak into the microphone and what you say will be automatically converted into corresponding text.

SpeechTexter's strength lies in its ability to convert punctuation marks such as periods, commas, colons, etc. You can refer to the guide table on the right for more information on these punctuation commands. Additionally, auto-save is also a very useful feature that you can activate during usage.
