Listen to the Podcast of a Model IELTS Speaking Part 1 Road Trip:
1. Are you fond of traveling by car?
Absolutely. Living in a tropical country like Vietnam where the average temperature is considerably high, traveling during hot days can be quite challenging. Opting for a car ride helps alleviate the discomfort, thanks to the available air conditioning. Moreover, it's a swift and convenient mode of transportation, so I usually prefer it for long-distance journeys.
2. When do you typically opt for car travel?
I don't rely on cars much as I usually move around within the city center. However, I would choose to drive when I'm in a rush or when the weather conditions are unfavorable, such as during heavy rainfall. Additionally, if the destination is far from Hanoi, cars are more practical compared to motorcycles or bicycles.
3. What's the furthest destination you've traveled to by car?
I'm not an avid traveler, so the farthest place I've driven to may not be very distant at all. Most likely, my hometown, Nam Dinh, is the farthest trip I've taken due to its distance from Hanoi. It's over 80 kilometers away and takes nearly 2 hours by car.
4. Do you prefer sitting in the front or back while traveling by car?
I prefer sitting in the front seats because they offer more privacy. I feel like I can easily doze off whenever I want without worrying about disturbing or inconveniencing others seated in the back. Additionally, the front seats provide excellent views of the streets and surrounding areas.
