To be frank, I'm not the best at decision-making. I joke that maybe the factory responsible for this in my prefrontal cortex has been malfunctioning since I was a kid. But seriously, nothing is easier for me to recount than the challenging decisions I've wrestled with throughout my life. I'll share with you one particularly memorable decision-making experience.

Back when I was an undergraduate, strapped for cash but hooked on shopping. It was a tragic chapter of my life! I vividly remember having to choose between an out-of-this-world dress, at least in my mind at the time, and ensuring I had enough nutrition daily. That dress with its colorful puff sleeves and flounces cost more than half my monthly allowance from my parents, which I needed to afford my meals. I can't even wrap my mind around why I was so charmed by that dress, but I can't change the past. I was infatuated with it and spent weeks dreaming of wearing it to impress my crush. I imagined he'd be swept off his feet by that outfit. But I also dreaded the prospect of surviving on instant noodles for a month.

I battled internally for a month before my wisdom finally took a break. I decided to buy the dress. I rushed to the boutique and bought it, knowing I'd face miserable days ahead. Life taught me a harsh lesson: dreams don't always align with reality. Wearing the dress in front of the library where my crush studied, I realized it didn't catch his eye at all. I was still invisible to him. This experience taught me to seek advice before making final decisions. If I had done that, I might have avoided a month of austere living on instant noodles.
