Sample Answer
Example 1
1. Did you usually go to the movies when you were a child?
Occasionally, back then, my family wasn't very well-off and quite thrifty, so my parents mostly bought DVDs for me to watch films at home instead of going to the cinema.
- movie theater: rạp chiếu phim
2. Do you typically go to the movies with your friends?
No, hardly ever. In fact, I can't recall the last time I went to the movies with a friend. If I do go, it's usually with my brother, and we only go when there's a blockbuster.
- go to a movie: đi xem phim
3. Do you still enjoy watching the films you loved as a child?
Only some. When I was young, I mostly enjoyed action or sci-fi films, especially story-based movies because they ignited my imagination and allowed me to immerse myself in exotic and extraordinary worlds. Now, with a more critical and hard-to-please taste in movies, I find many of my childhood favorites quite disappointing. Apart from highly acclaimed franchises like Harry Potter, most of my beloved childhood films are poorly written and acted.
- pictures: những bức ảnh
- narrative films: phim tường thuật
- favourites: yêu thích
- poorly scripted: kịch bản kém
4. Do you prefer watching movies at home or at the cinema?
It actually depends. If we're talking strictly about the quality of visual and audio experience, then going to the cinema is an obvious choice. However, I dislike the hassle of dressing up and traveling to the theater, so my preference usually depends on whether I feel like going out that day.
- audiovisuals: nghe nhìn
