Utilize a camera bag
Shield your camera from beach elements by using a camera bag with water-resistant capabilities, protecting it from sand. A waterproof bag will guard the camera against water splashes from the waves or water fights from playful children. A nylon bag is also a reliable companion when you need to store the camera during beach photography sessions.
In case you lack a waterproof bag, consider using a plastic bag with a sealed ziplock to safeguard the camera. Place the plastic bag inside the camera waterproof bag to shield it from sand, water, and the humid sea salt air—a practical suggestion.
Avoid the wind
If you happen to take photos on the beach on a windy day, consider it carefully before shooting. Strong gusts, wild and crazy, carrying swirling dust can be a hidden threat to the 'lifespan' of your camera. Don't forget to bring a small, cute, soft-bristle brush to clear the sand dust from the lens.
Avoid disassembling the lens outdoors
Wind-blown sand and sea water everywhere are harsh and dangerous conditions for the camera. So, if you want to disassemble or replace the lens, make sure to keep the camera completely separate from the wind, sand, and moisture at the beach.
Use a strap
If you are taking photos near the water, use a wrist strap or neck strap to prevent accidentally dropping the camera into the water or sand.
Keep the equipment in the shade
Minimize exposing your camera directly to the dazzling sunlight for too long. When not in use, store it in a camera bag for safety. Also, avoid placing the camera directly on the sand. If sand accidentally gets into it, it could be a nightmare when you realize the lens or the camera is damaged during cleaning.
Avoid touching dirt on the camera
If you have sunscreen on your hands, accidentally touching the camera lens can cause issues for both the lens and LCD. Always remember to ensure your hands are dry before handling the camera for shooting, a crucial factor.
