(Homeland) - GAM has undergone significant changes since TK Nguyen took over as the new owner of the team.
Despite being the most successful team in Vietnam with 7 VCS championships, GAM Esports has, at times, not been favored by many fans. The reasons stem not from technical issues but from numerous scandals related to how the team's management treated some of their players.
However, since the change in ownership, everything has changed significantly. Specifically, with TK Nguyen's presence, the black-and-yellow team has undergone a remarkable transformation, achieving various successes in a short period.
That success began with significant changes. Firstly, the most notable difference TK Nguyen made was in the entirely new face of the leadership team. While the previous owners only appeared as 'rumors' in the background, answering questions without directly engaging with the public, TK Nguyen chose transparency and clarity.

GAM is almost everywhere TK Nguyen is. From large-scale promotional events to the arena, the 35-year-old owner has become the team's sixth player, continuously boosting morale for teammates and not hesitating to interact with journalists. On social media, TK is just as active, regularly posting everyday pictures of players, interacting, and answering fans' questions.
Under TK Nguyen's leadership, GAM has also undergone significant changes in content creativity. They release compelling series revolving around the backstage lives of players. Additionally, the team proactively organizes offline events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to allow fans to interact directly with players, thus receiving enthusiastic responses from the community.
In GAM's 2022 Worlds Visa application campaign, TK Nguyen played a crucial role.
In the last 3 years, with the outbreak of Covid-19 worldwide, the Vietnamese League of Legends scene has been heavily affected. The top teams in the VCS couldn't participate in tournaments organized by Riot Games due to various unavoidable reasons. When the pandemic subsided, the visa issue became a new nightmare. In 2021, GAM Esports had to stay at home and watch Worlds because they couldn't obtain visas. This was a major regret considering the strength of their lineup, which was considered the strongest in Vietnamese League of Legends history.
To prevent a similar story from happening again, TK did everything possible. With experience and connections, the 35-year-old CEO guided players from A to Z, from fashion styles to maintaining confidence and answering interviews in a way that 'clicks' with the interviewer. At the same time, he continuously updated his personal page to reassure fans.
The efforts of TK and the GAM team finally paid off. On September 22, 80% of the team members obtained visas to the United States.

Apart from the aforementioned efforts, TK Nguyen also encountered good luck when he acquired GAM at the right time. In 2022, Vietnam became the host of the SEA Games, and League of Legends became a medal-contending sport. This was an unparalleled opportunity for Esports players to bring glory to the nation, and both GAM and TK seized it without letting it slip away.
If GAM already stood out among other Vietnamese teams in the selection round, in the Southeast Asia region, the skill gap was even wider. The Gold Medal naturally belonged to Levi and his teammates. The moment they stood on the podium to receive the medal, the joy of GAM Esports members demonstrated the significance of this title.
For TK Nguyen personally, that medal holds even greater significance. When he first bought GAM, this CEO revealed his vision that GAM would be the first step in getting Esports recognized and supported more positively in Vietnam. The impressions left by the black-and-yellow team at the recent SEA Games show that TK's goal is gradually becoming a reality.
This highlights that with great effort and a bit of luck, TK Nguyen has rebuilt GAM Esports' image and gradually realized his vision. His enthusiasm has made everyone forget about a 'dark' period of the black-and-yellow team, replacing it with current positivity. In the future, we can believe that under TK's leadership, GAM's organization will further develop. If lucky, the right approach of this CEO will be expanded to the entire Esports ecosystem of Vietnam, not just League of Legends.
