It is claimed that youngsters’ reading and writing skills can be negatively affected due to regular exposure to computers and mobile phones for communication. Although this trend is indeed disadvantageous, I still believe that it can bring several benefits.
On the one hand, the widespread use of digital devices may harm young individuals’ skill sets. To begin with, digital platforms such as social media and messaging apps frequently encourage young people to read shorter and more informal content. Thus, when it comes to traditional reading materials, for example, books and newspapers, people may find it challenging to focus and develop healthy reading habits. In addition, technology also has detrimental effects on writing skills due to the overuse of emojis, acronyms, and abbreviations. This habit, to some extent, can hinder the development of professional writing skills, hence, affecting youngsters’ study and work performances.
On the other hand, computers and cell phones can improve young people’s communication abilities. Firstly, many autocorrect and other digital assistance plugins are introduced to aid people while writing. For example, a student can use Grammarly, a digital writing assistant, to fix grammatical and spelling errors while working on their assignments and research. Thus, a person is able to save a large amount of time and energy while still demonstrating their writing proficiency. Secondly, young individuals can easily practise their reading skills with technological devices. Since e-books can be downloaded and used anywhere and anytime, people can read as many books as they want. As a result, using digital devices can help young people save money and gradually develop good reading habits.
To summarise, despite the fact that the rising use of computers and mobile phones for communication can result in poorer reading and writing skills, the benefits brought by those technologies should not be ignored.

It is said that making English an international language brings more benefits than the problems it causes. Although the expansion of English contains certain drawbacks, I agree that its advantages can outweigh its disadvantages.
On the one hand, the development of English into a global language can result in several problems. Firstly, the extinction of indigenous languages and cultural identities can be traced back to the dominance of the English language. As English becomes more prevalent, minority language systems are likely to be abandoned and eventually vanish. In this case, humanity can miss out on many invaluable cultural values and heritages since language is the main method of expressing them. Secondly, the expansion of English can lead to inequality between countries. The reason is that native speakers from many developed countries, such as the US and the UK, can gain privileges, that can hardly be earned by citizens of non-English-speaking countries. Thus, it is and may continue to prevent third-world countries from participating in and growing in the global market.
On the other hand, the advantages brought by the English language are, in my opinion, still dominant compared to its drawbacks. To begin with, the use of English is an effective way to facilitate communication worldwide. Using a common language allows people from different countries to interchange ideas, cultures, and values. As a result, this can promote cooperation between nations and form mutually rewarding relationships. In addition, from an individual point of view, English proficiency provides solid foundations for self-development and helps a person access many opportunities. For example, a student with good listening and reading skills in English can attend online courses from prestigious universities around the world that are provided in English. This indicates that the integration of English on a global scale has several educational implications.
In conclusion, although there are a number of negative effects linked to the globalisation of English, I still believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

In the current age, numerous people choose to pursue formal qualifications at universities. However, it is suggested that, due to the lack of qualified workers, vocational training should be promoted and taken part in more. While vocational training brings many benefits, I believe that the choice should be made according to each person’s preference.
On the one hand, participating in job-related training can be a great way for anyone to be well-prepared for the labour market. Firstly, the skills and knowledge acquired in vocational courses are well-designed and suitable for a specific occupation. For instance, those joining training to become electricians can learn how to fix lighting and power issues, which is extremely practical for their future job. As a result, after graduation, it is easier for them to find a job and start making money. Secondly, vocational training is often less time-consuming and far less expensive than university-level qualifications. While job-related courses are often completed within 12 months or less, a student at a university may have to spend 3-4 years on a degree. Therefore, it is an opportunity for a young person to enter the workforce at a younger age.
On the other hand, formal qualifications in university, in my opinion, cannot be totally replaced. To begin with, many occupations require workers to have more abstract and general knowledge, which can only be gained through university teaching. For example, to become an economist, a student must learn about theories and modules such as microeconomics and finance. Without that theoretically-based knowledge, he or she is unable to find a job as per preference and intention. Secondly, when attending higher education for a longer period of time, a student can not only gain knowledge and theories but also multiple transferable skills. For example, taking part in clubs and webinars, which are often not offered by vocational training, allows students to gain communication and leadership skills. Those skills are as important as any other knowledge when a graduate wants to look for a job in the labour market.
In conclusion, I partly agree that more people should join vocational training. However, formal courses in universities should not be underrated due to their merits.

It is believed that in rich countries, the level of satisfaction will not increase regardless of economic growth. While I recognized that there might be a non-existent relationship between economic wealth and happiness levels in those countries, it is undeniable that money can help improve people’s well-being.
On the one hand, in many cases, further growth in the economy may not lead to a corresponding rise in residents’ satisfaction. To begin with, although people in wealthy and developed countries have higher living standards, they often face more mental health problems. For example, the rate of depression and anxiety in wealthy nations such as the US and the UK is reported to be higher than in developing countries. These countries experience a lower level of life satisfaction since mental health is as important as physical health. In addition, people’s expectations tend to increase along with their income. For instance, in the UK, it is free to get access to health check-ups, which are often taken for granted. However, if the same policy is applied in Vietnam, the Vietnamese residents will be glad and grateful, which indicates higher satisfaction.
On the other hand, I strongly believe that economic growth can bring a number of benefits to people’s happiness and well-being. Firstly, development in the economy can help solve social issues. The expansion of companies, for example, can make way for more job opportunities and lower unemployment rates. Thus, in the end, it can lead to higher satisfaction with life. Secondly, with more money, the government and authorities can invest in health and well-being projects that promote the happiness level of residents. In many developed countries, people can easily get access to social services to deal with mental illnesses such as stress and social disorders. As a result, people’s health can be improved both physically and mentally.
In conclusion, while it is argued that an increase in income may not affect life satisfaction in rich countries, I still believe that economic growth can help improve people's happiness and well-being.

It is argued that besides pursuing profits, companies should also focus on their social responsibilities. While profitability is crucial for the sustainability of any business, it is believed that neglecting social responsibilities could lead to significant harm to individuals and society.
On one hand, the primary objective of businesses in the market should indeed be profit generation. Initially, it is acknowledged that profit serves as the foundation for the existence and operation of every enterprise. Without earning revenue and profit, a company cannot cover basic expenses such as rent, salaries, utilities, and insurance. Hence, making additional investments in social welfare might not be obligatory. Furthermore, many companies opt to invest in technological advancements to mitigate environmental damage. For instance, apparel manufacturers may utilize their retained earnings to acquire new equipment powered by renewable energy. Thus, prioritizing profit-making can also be viewed as a means for firms to promote environmental conservation.
On the other hand, while acknowledging the importance of profit, companies should not prioritize it above all else. Firstly, human and organizational activities significantly contribute to numerous environmental issues. For example, industrial waste discharged directly into rivers and oceans can result in water pollution. Consequently, companies must recognize their impact and rectify environmental harm. Secondly, from a business standpoint, direct contributions to society can enhance a company's reputation and image. A prime illustration is donations to charitable organizations, educational initiatives, and environmental endeavors, which can ultimately foster customer preference and loyalty. Consequently, this approach can positively impact companies' profitability and expansion.
