This complex includes many temples of the Champa kingdom, located in a small valley with a diameter of about 2 km, surrounded by hills.

Most of the architecture and sculptures at My Son are influenced by Indian culture. The carving technique on Champa's bricks is rare in other arts in the region. The towers all have spire shapes, symbols of the sacred Meru peak, the abode of Hindu deities. The tower gates usually face East to receive sunlight. The outside walls of the tower are often decorated with continuous S-shaped leaf patterns. Decorative objects are sculptures made of sandstone, including Makara-shaped sculptures, Apsara nymphs, lions, elephants, Garuda mythical birds, and praying human statues. They are closely arranged and to this day, there has been no research project that has identified the binding substance, human figures, and shapes on the towers. The highlight of Cham sculpture is the expression of the intense vitality of human beings with inner feelings that are sometimes exuberant, sometimes quietly contemplative, sometimes pensive. Each historical period carries its own distinctive architectural lines.
