1. Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang
The cable car system linking Nha Trang to the Vinpearl Island Resort is the longest sea-crossing cable car in the world. Featuring 65 cabins, each capable of holding up to 8 people, it offers visitors stunning views of pristine beaches and gentle waves. A ride on the Vinpearl cable car provides an incredible perspective of Nha Trang city from approximately 50 meters above the ground. Spanning 3,320 meters, the cable car connects the mainland to Hon Tre Island, where the Vinpearl Land resort complex is located. Built by POMA and supported by 7 towers along the coast, the cable car system reaches a maximum height of 115 meters, with a capacity to carry 1,500 passengers per hour. The journey takes about 10 minutes, and the system is designed to withstand winds up to level 7. Since its opening on March 10, 2007, the Vinpearl cable car has been providing panoramic views of Nha Trang and its coastline, including the scenic Nha Trang Bay, one of the 30 most beautiful bays in the world. While there were initial concerns about potential disruptions to marine traffic, the cable car has since become a beloved and iconic feature of both Vinpearl Land and the Khánh Hòa province. Along with Ponagar Tower and the Hòn Mun Marine Reserve, the Vinpearl cable car is now considered a symbol of Khánh Hòa.


2. Yen Tu, Quang Ninh
The Yen Tu Cable Car system consists of two lines: The Hoang Long cable car, which runs from the Giải Oan valley at the foot of Mount Yen Tu to the western side of Hoa Yen Pagoda; and the Bach Long cable car, which connects the eastern side of the Mot Mai Pagoda to the An Ky Sinh statue area. From the cabin, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of Uong Bi city or Mount Yen Tu from above.

To enhance the experience and promote tourism in Quang Ninh, the province invested in the cable car system to reduce travel time and distance, allowing visitors to spend more time soaking in the beautiful surroundings of Yen Tu Mountain. The total length of the cable car route is 1,200 meters, with an elevation difference of 450 meters (the station near Hoa Yen Pagoda).
Yen Tu is a well-known pilgrimage destination in the North, where visitors embark on a challenging mountain climb. However, taking the cable car offers a completely different experience, giving visitors a unique bird's-eye view of Yen Tu’s pristine forests. The Yen Tu Cable Car features 16 cabins, with a transport capacity of 700 people per hour. The cable car ascends from a height of 50 meters to 450 meters above sea level, reducing what was once a 2-hour trek to just 6 minutes. After arriving at the Hoa Yen Pagoda station, visitors can continue their journey by foot to the Mot Mai Pagoda before transferring to the second cable car line, which connects Mot Mai Pagoda to the An Ky Sinh statue. This second line, which is well-known for its modernity, rapid construction, and challenging terrain, stretches over 900 meters and has 36 cabins, with a transport capacity of 1,800 people per hour.


3. Huong Pagoda
The Huong Pagoda Cable Car System was built by the Austrian company Doppelmayr, a world leader in cable car technology. The system meets European standards and features 45 cabins made in Switzerland, each equipped with automatic doors and able to carry 6 passengers per cabin. The total length of the cable car line is 1,200 meters, consisting of 7 towers and 2 stations, located at the Thien Tru Pagoda and the Huong Tich Pagoda. The system has a capacity to transport around 1,500 passengers per hour and moves at a speed of 5 meters per second, with safety features designed to withstand winds up to level 6. The Huong Pagoda, also known as the Huong Son complex, is a cultural and religious site in Vietnam, comprising several Buddhist temples, shrines to deities, and agricultural worship sites.
In the past, visitors wishing to visit Huong Pagoda had to walk and climb from the Thien Tru dock to the Huong Tich cave, a journey that would take most of the day. Now, thanks to the modern cable car system, visitors can reach the main pagoda in just 15 minutes. The total length of the cable car route is 1,218 meters, connecting the Thien Tru Pagoda to the Huong Tich cave. The line features 32 Omega III cabins, each with a 6-person capacity, and can transport up to 1,500 passengers per hour. There are three stations along the route: Thien Tru Station, Giai Oan Station, and Huong Tich Station.


4. Robin Hill – Da Lat
Robin Hill, Da Lat is the starting point of a 2,267-meter-long cable car line that connects to the Truc Lam Zen Monastery. 6. Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh Province
Ba Den Mountain is located just 11 km from the center of Tay Ninh town and is one of the province's top tourist destinations. To reach the peak, visitors can either hike or take the cable car. The cable car system transports visitors from the base to Ba Den Pagoda and back, covering a distance of 1,084 meters with 37 cabins and a 214-meter elevation gain. The best time to ride the cable car is at sunset, when the natural beauty of the area is illuminated by the last rays of sunlight. Ba Den Mountain, known as the 'roof of Southeast Vietnam,' is a popular weekend getaway, as it is just a few hours' drive from Ho Chi Minh City. The cable car primarily serves pilgrims visiting the pagoda, while adventurous travelers often hike up and take the cable car down.
With a total area of 10,959 square meters, the Ba Den station can handle up to 8,800 passengers per hour. This station serves two cable car lines: the Van Son line to the summit and the Hang Pagoda line directly to Ba Den Pagoda. The station is still under development, and new features will be added soon. What makes the 'World's Largest Cable Car Station' unique is not only its size but also its wave-shaped roof design, which represents three of Tay Ninh's most famous mountains: Ba Den, Phung, and Heo.
The wave columns are made of imported aluminum, which is heat-resistant and fireproof. The spacious design blends harmoniously with the natural surroundings, offering visitors a cool, refreshing atmosphere inside the station. This design is especially suited for the year-round sunny climate of Tay Ninh. The roof design also allows visitors to enjoy views of Ba Den Mountain through windows positioned at the highest point of the station. Inspired by the architecture of Ba Den Pagoda and Hang Pagoda, the roof features curved, dragon-shaped tiles. The station's dominant color is bright yellow, and the floor tiles reflect the colors of the Southern Vietnamese Buddhist tradition. The architecture is in perfect harmony with the Ba Den Pagoda complex.


7. Hon Thom Cable Car - Phu Quoc
Hon Thom Cable Car is a three-rope cable car system that connects the An Thoi town with Hon Thom Island. This is the first and most important component of the Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, a major entertainment complex being developed by Sun Group in the southern part of Phu Quoc Island. The Hon Thom cable car spans over 7,899 meters, linking An Thoi town with Hon Roi, Hon Dua, and finally, Hon Thom Island. This extraordinary cable car was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the longest cable car system in the world upon its opening.
The system consists of two stations and six cable towers, with the tallest tower (T4) reaching a height of 174 meters. The cable car features 69 cabins, each capable of holding 30 passengers. It operates at a maximum speed of 8.5 meters per second, reducing the travel time between An Thoi and Hon Thom from 30 minutes by boat to just 15 minutes by cable car. The cabins are equipped with Wi-Fi and night lighting, providing a smooth and enjoyable ride. The system is designed for minimal shaking and does not require a conventional rescue system. In case of adverse weather conditions, the cable car will automatically stop and notify passengers.
Riding the Hon Thom cable car offers an unforgettable aerial experience where visitors can marvel at the pristine, breathtaking landscapes of the southern part of Phu Quoc Island. With its impressive length, the Hon Thom cable car was honored by Guinness World Records as the longest three-rope cable car in the world at the time of its inauguration.


8. Tay Thien - Tam Dao Cable Car
Tay Thien - Tam Dao is a historically significant spiritual site in Vietnam, known for its ancient Buddhist relics. It is considered one of the oldest Buddhist sites in the country. The area is home to many sacred temples such as the Thuong Temple, Phu Nghi Temple, Thien An Temple, the Truc Lam Tay Thien Monastery, as well as shrines dedicated to the Goddess and the Child, and particularly the temple of the Mother of the Nation, Lăng Thị Tiêu, who played a crucial role in supporting King Hung's reign and expanding the borders of the ancient nation.
Visitors to Tay Thien come not only for pilgrimages but also to admire the stunning natural scenery, including sites like Lien Stone Field, Tối Stream, Choi Tre Waterfall, Silver Waterfall, Vàng Stream, and Giải Oan Stream. The cable car system, designed and supplied by POMA (France), was developed with an investment of 258 billion VND. Upon completion, Tay Thien has become a spiritual tourism hotspot, drawing Buddhist pilgrims and visitors from all over. Tay Thien now stands as a renowned pilgrimage site, comparable to Yen Tu or Perfume Pagoda, and will soon become a vibrant center for Buddhist practices in the Thiền, Tịnh, and Mật traditions. It will also serve as a prominent location for the Mother Goddess belief, marking it as the birthplace of one of Vietnam's ancient spiritual customs.


9. Ta Cu Cable Car - Binh Thuan
The Ta Cu cable car system was inaugurated in 2003, featuring modern European-made technology. The cable car station is located just a few hundred meters from the mountain's hiking path, and the system consists of 25-35 automated cabins, each carrying 6 passengers. The cable spans 1600 meters and reaches a height of 500 meters, with the capacity to transport up to 1000 passengers per hour. The ride takes only 7-10 minutes to reach the summit station.
As you glide up in the cable car, you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of nearly half of the mountain. Below, you can spot the bustling town of Thuan Nam, with its winding National Route 1A, busy traffic, and fields of ripe dragon fruit neatly lined up. With future developments, Vietnam is set to witness even larger and more advanced cable cars, further enhancing the travel experience for tourists. Ta Cu Mountain, located 28 km south of Phan Thiet, is a captivating natural attraction, offering awe-inspiring views of lush mountains and ancient pagodas. 10. Fansipan, Lao Cai

12. Ba Na, Da Nang
With a cable car system that holds 4 world records and has been ranked by CNN as one of the 10 most impressive cable cars in the world, it's easy to see why this is a must-do experience when visiting Da Nang. Located 25 km west of the city center, visitors to this tourist complex can experience all four seasons in a single day, surrounded by beautifully maintained flower beds. The area features a miniature Europe with a replica of a charming French village, complete with grand castle towers, medieval-style architecture, and a lively square full of entertainment. The Ba Na cable car system, named the most impressive in the world by CNN, spans a total length of 5,771.61 meters, with a vertical drop of 1,410 meters and weighs 141 tons. It consists of five cable lines, including Suoi Mo - Ba Na, Debay - Morin, Thac Toc Tien - L’Indochine, Hoi An - Marseille, and Bordeaux - Louvre, with a capacity of 6,500 passengers per hour. Manufactured by Doppermayer, this cable car system was built with an investment of 300 billion VND and includes 24 towers and 94 cabins, including 6 VIP cabins. The system can transport 1,500 passengers per hour, taking just 15 minutes to travel from the base of the mountain to the eco-tourism area at an altitude of 1,487 meters above sea level.
Located 25 km southwest of Da Nang, at an elevation of 1,487 meters, Ba Na was first discovered by the French in April 1901 and is often compared to the likes of Sapa or Da Lat in central Vietnam. The development of this 'climate gem' has made it a popular tourist destination since the late 20th century. In addition to the nearly 1 km cable car ride from Vong Nguyet Hill to the Ba Na summit, the Ba Na - Suoi Mo cable car line, which was launched in March 2009, has set two Guinness World Records: the longest single cable car line in the world (5,042.62 meters), and the greatest elevation difference between stations (1,291.81 meters).
Riding the cable car to the top of Ba Na, suspended among the clouds, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the pristine forest, vast tree canopies, and fluttering butterflies, creating a sense of adventure as if stepping into a magical paradise. Recently, Da Nang announced plans to build an additional record-breaking cable car line to Ba Na, which will run parallel to the existing one, about 250 meters apart. The new line will stretch over 5.8 kilometers, with cabins designed to carry 10 passengers each and a capacity of 1,500 to 1,600 visitors per hour.
