Nguyen Hue University, also known as the 2nd Military Officer Academy, is located in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. It is a military university under the Ministry of Defense, specializing in training commanding officers for infantry units (squad, platoon, company) in Southern Vietnam.

The university was established on August 27, 1961, in Hoa Hiep, Ben Tre under the name Song Be Military Academy. After several relocations and name changes, in 1975, it moved to Bien Hoa and officially became known as the 2nd Military Officer Academy. In 1998, the government assigned it the task of training military officers at the undergraduate and graduate levels. On October 28, 2010, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1973/QD-TTG to elevate it to the status of Nguyen Hue University.

The university is responsible for training commanding officers for infantry units (squad, platoon, company) in the Southern region. Graduates receive a university or college degree as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
