Wang Ka-yee, also known as Jackson, was born on March 28, 1994. He is a singer, rapper, dancer, music producer, entrepreneur, member of the boy band GOT7, and a former fencer from Hong Kong. Jackson is the founder of Team Wang Records, where he also serves as creative director and chief designer for the Team Wang Design fashion brand. Before his music career, Jackson was a prominent fencer for Hong Kong's national team, ranking 11th at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and winning gold at the 2011 Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship. After a selection process, he moved to Seoul, South Korea in July 2011 to pursue his musical ambitions. After two years of training, Jackson debuted with GOT7 in January 2014 with the single "Girls Girls Girls". Jackson was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong, and raised in the Sha Tin District of the New Territories. His father, Wang Ruiji, was a former member of China's national fencing team and a gold medalist in the Asian Games. His mother, Sophia Chow, is a former gymnast from Shanghai. His grandfather, Professor Chu Yingxiang, was a pioneer in ultrasound diagnostic medicine in Mainland China and an honorary director of the Shanghai People's Hospital's ultrasound department. Under the guidance of his father and professional trainers, Jackson began fencing at the age of 10, going on to achieve numerous victories with the Hong Kong fencing team, including first place at the 2011 Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship. He attended the Hong Kong American International School.
