The Tale of Princess Kaguya is an anime film released in the fall of 2013 by Studio Ghibli, written and directed by Isao Takahata. The film is based on the folk tale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

The story of The Tale of Princess Kaguya is wrapped in a duration of 137 minutes, revolving around the life of the mysterious girl Kaguya. In the distant ancient land of Japan, there was an old bamboo cutter who specialized in cutting bamboo in the forest to sell. One day, the old man found a princess in a bamboo sprout grown out of season. The tiny princess, as small as a thumb, was named Kaguya by the old man. When the old man brought her home, his old wife suddenly had milk. Growing up quickly, Kaguya made friends with the poor neighboring children. Every day, the kids ran along the mountainside to pick wildflowers, sang with birds, caught frogs and stole melons.

One day, the old bamboo cutter took the whole family to the capital to live after being given gold nuggets from the bamboo forest. In the capital, the wild girl learned to be a noble lady despite longing for her childhood memories. Renowned for her beauty and talent, Kaguya was proposed to by five noble gentlemen. Kaguya asked them to find rare items as wedding gifts. All five failed. The Japanese Emperor came to propose, but Kaguya unexpectedly discovered his true identity...

The film The Tale of Princess Kaguya has won numerous awards and was nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2015 Oscars.

The anime Chie - The Pepper Seed Girl is adapted from the manga of the same name by artist Haruki Etsumi, produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha and Toho, and directed by Takahata Isao.

The main character of the film is the cute little girl Chie. Despite being very young, she has to deal with the hardships of life by running a grilled meat shop. Her mother couldn't bear her father leaving the family. However, she is very resilient and resourceful, taking care of the family business adeptly. She has mature yet adorable, innocent thoughts. Finally, happiness begins to smile when her mother returns and her father starts to change.

The work vividly depicts the bustling life of the trading neighborhood with various perspectives, portraying all the good and bad but still upholding moral values and compassion in society.
