Question for Topic Email IELTS Speaking Part 1
1. Do you frequently send emails?
Well, about 4-5 times a week on average. Email is my company’s main communication medium so I receive work-related emails everyday and I usually do have to reply to them. Occasionally I have to compose emails to my managers if I want to take a day off or ask someone to cover my shifts.
- communication medium: phương tiện giao tiếp
- work-related emails: email liên quan đến công việc
- compose: soạn, biên soạn
2. When do you typically send emails to others?
Mostly when it involves work. Like I said, my company’s official means of communication is email so I almost only message someone through emails if it involves work. Occasionally, when I subscribe to or I want to inquire about some programs, courses or products and I can’t reach the suppliers or organizers through social media, I would have to contact them via emails.
- means of communication: phương tiện truyền thông
- message someone: nhắn tin cho ai đó
- subscribe: đặt mua
- inquire about: hỏi về
- contact them via: liên hệ với họ qua
3. Is email communication widely used in Vietnam?
Yes it is. I think it has caught on for about 5-10 years. Almost every business or institution would use email as their communicating channel so I figure there must be billions of emails sent each day within Vietnam’s digital mail network.
- caught on: diễn ra
- communicating channel: kênh thông tin liên lạc
- digital mail network: mạng thư kỹ thuật số
4. Do you predict that email communication will become more or less popular in the future?
Honestly, I think its universality will gradually decrease over the course of time. I think people are prioritizing speed and instance more, which leads to the rise of other quicker and more convenient media such as social networking apps or messaging platforms designed for workplace communication like Slack or Teams.
- universality: tính phổ biến
- messaging platforms: nền tảng nhắn tin
- workplace communication: giao tiếp nơi làm việc
