1. What responsibilities should teachers have in the classroom?
From my perspective, teachers take on various roles in an educational environment, but the primary duty is delivering effective classroom instruction. For instance, teachers typically prepare and implement lesson plans to enhance lesson engagement and assess student assignments. Furthermore, teachers often serve as mentors to guide students during their developmental years and foster their growth as responsible individuals.
2. Do you believe computers will eventually replace teachers in classrooms?
Certainly not. Despite recent technological advancements, machines can never replace human teachers. Initially, teaching isn't just about facts and numbers. Computers can't guide or mentor a student the way a teacher can. A good human teacher fosters independent thinking and learning. Moreover, a human teacher can create an ideal learning environment through the bond with students, which virtual learning can never achieve.
3. How can teachers make lessons more interesting for children?
In my opinion, there are several ways to make children more interested in lessons. Firstly, game-based learning can be an excellent method to make lessons more captivating. Organizing a spelling bee is a notable example of this as such competitions usually make classes much more enjoyable, and when children associate learning with something fun, teaching becomes more effective. Additionally, employing technological elements such as using videos and slides is certainly a fantastic approach to make lessons more engaging, significantly increasing the interest level in a classroom.
4. What changes do you think should be made to the way students are taught in your country?
In my view, there are certain changes that should be implemented in education in Vietnam. Firstly, practical knowledge and hands-on experience should receive greater emphasis, as the current focus of our educational system mainly revolves around theoretical knowledge. For example, there should be more visits to museums or galleries so that students can enhance their understanding of culture and history in a more interactive manner. Furthermore, schools should also educate their students about essential real-life skills such as collaboration and communication, in addition to academic subjects.
