1. Do you think parents should buy more toys for their kids or spend more time with them?2. What’s the difference between the toys kids play with now and those they played with in the past?3. Should advertising aim at kids be prohibited?4. How do advertisements influence children?
1. Should parents buy more toys for their children or spend more time with them?
From my personal experience, I don't believe that more material possessions equate to greater happiness for a child. On the contrary, the quality time parents spend with their children, engaging in games—whether simple ones with minimal reliance on toys or not—should be prioritized. This fosters better intellectual and emotional development in children.
- materialistic things: thứ vật chất
2. What are the differences between the toys children play with now and those they played with in the past?
I believe the most significant difference lies in the fact that children today tend to possess a greater number of toys compared to the past. With the advancement of mass production, plastic dolls and cars have become so affordable that most families can afford to buy a plethora for their children. During events like Christmas or birthdays, children can spend hours unwrapping all the toys they receive. This is in stark contrast to the past when children often played with handmade toys or even natural materials like wooden sticks and bamboo in traditional games together.
3. Should advertising targeting children be banned?
I believe that a complete ban on advertising targeting children may not be the most reasonable approach, as advertising can have positive impacts in some cases. Instead, it would be more effective for authorities to regulate the types of advertising allowed on television. For instance, advertisements that may have a detrimental impact on children should be restricted, while those promoting toys that support children’s development could be permitted on national television.
- foster: thúc đẩy
4. How do advertisements affect children?
Advertisements can influence children’s preferences towards specific products. This is concerning because children may not fully understand what is beneficial or harmful to them, leading them to gravitate towards toys that have negative effects and insist that their parents purchase them.
- orient: định hướng
