Questions for IELTS Speaking Part 1 Weekend
1. What do you usually do on the weekend?2. What did you do last weekend?3. Do you make plans for your weekend?4. Do you enjoy your weekends now more than you did when you were a child?
1. What are your typical activities on weekends?
As someone who prefers staying at home, I usually spend my weekends doing household chores or enjoying a good book rather than going to crowded places. However, on Sundays, I do agree to my friends' request to go out and have lunch with them, especially since my weekdays are often very busy.
- Homebody (n): người thích ở nhà
- House chore (n): công việc nhà
- Oblige (v): chiều theo
- Hectic (adj): bận rộn
2. What did you do the previous weekend?
Last weekend was a truly relaxing time for me as I chose to stay indoors all day binge-watching a new TV show that I had eagerly anticipated. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not much of an outdoor person, so I aim to have a similar experience this weekend as well.
- Binge watch (v): cày phim
- Highly anticipated (adj): được vô cùng mong đợi
3. Do you make plans for your weekends?
No, I don't. I consider myself someone who follows a routine, so I tend to repeat the same tasks and activities every weekend. If an unexpected event does occur, I can occasionally set aside my routine, although this is rare in my case.
- Routine-oriented (adj): theo nếp quen thuộc
- Unforeseen (adj): không dự kiến trước
- Put something on the sideline (v/slang/idiom): để sang một bên
4. Do you find weekends more enjoyable now than when you were a child?
Absolutely, weekends in my childhood often meant extra classes, revising lessons, or other academic activities. Nowadays, I prioritize using weekends for relaxation to rejuvenate myself for the upcoming week.
- Revision (n): sự ôn tập
- Academically related (adj): liên quan đến học thuật/ học tập
- Reinvigorate (v): truyền sức sống, sinh khí
