Unlocking Ports on Viettel Modem: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Unlocking NAT Port on Viettel Modem, unlocking F608/600w Viettel modem ports
Step 1: On your computer, use any web browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1 to access Viettel's wifi modem with default login credentials admin. If you've changed login details, enter the updated information.
Alternatively, you can log in using the Serial Number on the switch box label.
Step 2: On the next interface, click on Security and select Firewall, then check the option Off as shown below to disable the Firewall for F600w.
To ensure smooth upload traffic, it's advisable to disable the firewall. However, for those still concerned about security, different security levels can be selected.
Step 3: Next, navigate to Application, choose Port Forwarding, and check the box for Enable. Here, follow the sequence as shown below:
1) Name the Ports
2) Specify the Port to be opened for DVR.
3) Static address of the DVR.
4) Port to be opened for the DVR (each DVR requires a different port)
5) Outcome when you correctly NAT Port.
6) Press Modify once NAT Port is successful.
For other Ports, follow similar procedures and ensure that Port names are different.
2. Unlocking NAT Port on Viettel Modem, unlocking Gpon H640W Viettel modem ports.
Step 1: Access the default gateway address of the modem which is 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.100. The login interface will appear as shown below, enter the default modem user and pass:
Step 2: After accessing the modem, go to Basic Setting >Lan connection adjust the Internal IP Address from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.1 as shown below then click Apply. Wait for a moment for the modem to restart and then log back into the modem using the new default gateway 192.168.1.1.
Note: If you prefer not to change settings on the modem, you can change the default gateway of the DVR to match the network modem. In that case, change the DVR gateway to 192.168.1.100. If changed on the modem, there's no need to change it on the DVR.
Step 3: Next, navigate to Advance Setting and select DMZ Settings. Here, check the line DMZ (Open all ports to the internal IP address of the PC) as shown below. Enter the DVR's IP address into the Internal IP Address field as 192.168.1.10 then press Apply to confirm the changes.
In the Port forwarding section, add the 2 ports we need to open NAT as follows:
- Enter Rule Name as camera1 (Name depends on how you set it up)
- Enter the Taget IP as the IP address of the DVR, which is 192.168.1.10. In the small box for netmask range, enter 32. Depending on the IP address, enter the appropriate number, for example, if you have the IP address 192.168.1.233 and subnet mask is 255.255.255.240. You want to know which subnet this IP belongs to. What is the broadcast address? You can calculate as follows:
Take the total number of IPs in one class C which is 256 (from 0 to 255) subtracting the last digit of the subnet mask. 256 - 240 = 16
Then the subnets are counted backwards as follows:
1) 192.168.1.240/28
2) 192.168.1.224/28 (previous subnet minus 16 IPs)
3) 192.168.1.208/28
…
So the address 192.168.1.233 will fall within the second subnet with a range from 1.224 to 1.239 (192.168.1.224/28) and the Broadcast address of this subnet is 192.168.1.239 (equal to the address of the next subnet minus 1). For example: 240 - 1 = 239
Additionally, you can use the AND operation between the IP address and Subnet mask to determine which subnet the host with that IP belongs to.
- In the Protocol section, enter the Port you need to open (I entered 80) and fill in all 4 boxes, then click the Add button.
- Repeat the above steps for port 34567 and any other ports you need to open. If there are 2 ports, it will show 2 lines below indicating success.
Step 4: Check if the Port is open or not, go HERE to check. Enter the IP address and Port you just opened in the respective fields. If it says Address “42.114.128.40:80” is open and ready to use, it's okay. If it says Address “42.114.128.40:80” is not open and not ready to use, it means the port is not open yet. Let's check each step again, it's best to delete and start over.
Step 5: After confirming that the Port is open, you can go to Advance Settings >DDNS Setting to add the domain name.
- Check the box for Using DDNS
- Choose the DDNS Server that you have purchased.
- Enter the Host name that you have created.
- Enter your account into the User ID field.
- Enter your DYNDNS password into the Password field.
Once you have entered the information, press Apply to complete the process.
