Google Tasks has been on the market for nearly 10 years. However, the drawback is that Google Tasks lacks a mobile app version, and users need to switch to using third-party apps to access their tasks on mobile phones or tablets, or use the Gmail version on any browser on mobile devices.
Finally, the tech giant Google has released a dedicated Google Tasks app for Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad) devices. Tasks now has its own area on the right side of the Gmail interface, which is more visually appealing than the Tasks window in previous Gmail versions. Below, Mytour will guide you on how to use the new Google Tasks app for iOS and Android.

Setting up Google Tasks on Android, iPhone, iOS
Setting up the app on mobile devices is easier with a Google account. On iOS, simply open the app, select the Gmail account you want to link with Tasks, and allow the app to send notifications to your device.
Adding and syncing tasks more easily in Google Tasks
The Tasks interface allows users to add tasks to lists more easily. Additionally, Tasks also enables users to add details to each task, and these details will be displayed directly on each task in the list.
Users can create unlimited task lists by tapping the sawtooth icon in the bottom left corner of the app interface, then selecting Create new list. This screen is also where you can switch between different Gmail accounts.
Once you have a list, adding new tasks is much simpler. Just tap the green button Add a new task. Enter the task and then tap Save to save it.
If you want to add details to each task, simply tap the plus icon, then tap the three horizontal lines icon. Here you can add a description for your task. To set a reminder date for the task, tap the small calendar icon.
After saving your task, you can simply select it from the task list to edit details, adjust reminder dates, or add additional notes if needed.
To navigate between tasks in the lists, just tap on the menu above your task name from any task list. However, each task is only in one list, there is no multitasking window.
What feature is still missing on Google Tasks?
Although the new Google Tasks app for iOS and Android is quite user-friendly, it still lacks some useful features found in other task management apps, including: adding location to tasks, setting up tasks to repeat according to specific schedules, or task priority.
Furthermore, users cannot assign colors to different tasks or display small icons to suggest urgent tasks. Instead, users can only add additional details such as do now or do later to their task list to differentiate which tasks need immediate attention.
Another aspect is that users are unable to add images or videos to tasks. If they wish to integrate multimedia with tasks, users can switch to using Google Keep.
At the very least, tasks with assigned reminder dates will be displayed in Google Calendar. Assuming the Reminders calendar is activated, you simply need to click on the three-dot icon next to the calendar and select Switch to tasks.
Creating tasks from emails on the new Gmail web interface is also quite straightforward: just open Tasks on the right sidebar, drag and drop any email. Then, you can edit the task name and description details, and the email you dragged will be linked to the tasks.
