4. Natural Conditions for Tourism
The geographical features of our country are very diverse and are divided into natural regions. With ¾ of the territory being hills and mountains with many large mountain ranges and plateaus, mainly concentrated in the North and West such as the Dong Trieu, Bac Son, Ngan Son, Hoang Lien Son, Truong Son mountain ranges, and the Son La, Moc Chau plateaus in the north, Kon Tum, Pleiku, Dak Lak, Lam Vien plateaus in the Central Highlands. The country has a dense river network, running in the west-east and north-south directions. Major rivers such as the Red River, Da River, and Thai Binh River in the north and the Tien River, Hau River, and Dong Nai River in the south. Every year, these rivers often flood during the rainy season, causing difficulties for production and living activities of the people, but in return, they bring a large amount of silt to the delta regions.
The country is located in the tropical monsoon climate zone, and the weather on the Vietnam travel map often changes and varies by region. From the Bach Ma range in the north, there are usually two main seasons: the dry and cold northeast monsoon in winter and the hot and dry southwest monsoon and hot and humid southeast monsoon in summer. With high rainfall, high humidity, and average annual temperature above 20 degrees Celsius, Vietnam's climate is very suitable for developing a tropical monsoon ecosystem, with diverse natural features and rich flora and fauna resources.
5. Economic-Social Tourism Characteristics
Vietnam, originally an agriculture-based country, still has a majority of its population engaged in agriculture. Since the renewal process in 1986, Vietnam's economy has undergone significant changes and growth, with a positive economic restructuring, increased industrial and service sector contributions. Currently, the country is aiming to develop into an industrial nation with an average GDP growth rate of 5% per year. In terms of economic geography, Vietnam is divided and planned for development into key economic and social regions in the North, Central, and South.
In the tourism sector, this industry is growing rapidly and making a very positive contribution to the country's economy. With significant tourism potential, Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists, thanks to its diverse tourist destinations from North to South, from deltas, forests, mountains to islands, rich in natural resources and cultural values.
Therefore, thanks to its diverse and abundant resources, tourism in particular and other economic sectors in Vietnam in general, are holding many advantages for development. However, the question is how to exploit these resources well, efficiently, and sustainably for development. From the perspective of tourism development, diversifying tourist destinations on the Vietnam travel map is crucial, but it always needs to ensure that quantity must go hand in hand with quality, so that Vietnam will always be an ideal tourist destination in the region and the world.
