In 1949, in Warsaw (Poland), FISE issued the 'Charter of Teachers' with 15 chapters focusing on the struggle against bourgeois and feudal education, building a better education system to protect the rights of teachers, and emphasizing the status and responsibilities of teaching.
During the FISE meeting from August 26-30, 1957, in Warsaw, the Vietnamese education union decided to designate November 20, 1958, as International Teachers' Charter Day. However, it was not until November 20, 1982, that International Teachers' Charter Day was solemnly celebrated.
