On July 15, 1950, President Ho Chi Minh directed the Central Youth Union and the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Volunteer Save the Nation of Vietnam to mobilize young and healthy forces to establish 'Youth Volunteer' teams, contributing to the victory against the enemy on various battlefields.

Since then, on August 15, at various city, district, ward, and commune levels in each locality, discussions, parades, music performances, and competitions are organized to review the revolutionary traditions of the previous generations of Youth Volunteers and enhance the spirit and determination of today's young generation.
7. Veterans and Martyrs Day (July 27)
In line with President Ho Chi Minh's directive, our Party and State have designated July 27 every year as Veterans and Martyrs Day to remember and honor the heroes, martyrs, and war invalids who sacrificed for the independence, freedom, and unity of the Motherland. This day is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese people to embody the principle of remembering those who contributed, akin to the saying 'drink water, remember the source; eat fruit, remember the grower.'
