Thunderbolt 3 is a protocol that combines PCI Express for data transfer and DisplayPort for image transmission.

Thunderbolt 3 uses the USB-C port for signal transmission. It allows data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps, twice as fast as Thunderbolt 2 at 20Gbps, while consuming only half the power. Thunderbolt 3 also has the capability to deliver power of up to 100W.
Thunderbolt 3 allows you to quickly connect hard drives, monitors (including 4K and 5K resolutions), and other peripherals such as your desktop or laptop computer.
