Dear beloved older brother!
It's been several months since I last saw you since you went to study at the University in Hanoi. This afternoon, having a break from school, I'm writing a letter to inquire about your health and studies.
Do you remember our family? Everyone at home misses you so much. At every meal, our parents mention you. They worry that you're not eating enough and don't know how to take care of yourself. Is your boarding house near the school? Are your classmates and people in the neighborhood friendly and sociable? Last time you called home, Mom told me that you were tutoring Math for a 6th-grade student. It must be tough studying and tutoring at the same time, isn't it? Mom doesn't want you to work too hard and affect your study results, but Dad supports your tutoring job. He says tutoring will give you experience and reinforce your knowledge. That's also good.
A few weeks ago, Grandpa was hospitalized. He told us not to let you know so that you could focus on your studies. Now he has been discharged, and his health is better, so you can rest assured. Oh! The orchid basket you planted has bloomed with purple flowers. It looks so beautiful! Dad hung the basket of flowers in front of the house, so everyone passing by compliments it. Mom and Dad are still healthy, and the food business is still going well. Mom just bought some baby chickens to raise. Those little yellow-feathered chickens are so cute, each no bigger than a handful. Do you remember the notebook you gave me before going to Hanoi to study? I've used it as a Math notebook. I've written all the Math formulas in it to study more easily. I was chosen by the teacher to join the Math team for the district competition, and that notebook has become my reliable companion. Not only that, I also participated in the competition for neat handwriting and won the Second Prize at the school level. Mom and Dad always say that handwriting reflects a person's character, so even though I won second place, I should still be humble because there are others with better handwriting. Moreover, humility will make me more respected by everyone.
Dear older brother! This semester, please strive to win the scholarship! Mom and Dad remind you to take care of your health, balance between studying and tutoring to get the best results. I promise to study hard and review well to achieve high results in the upcoming Math Olympiad. When you have time, come visit our family!
Now, I have to go to the store with Mom, so I'll stop writing here. I wish you always have good academic results.
