1. Great axes are powerful, but hard to craft. These S-Tier weapons deal out tons of damage and have an impressive attack range, although their attack speed is relatively slow compared to lighter weapons (such as straight swords). In order to forge one of these, you’ll need to gather a ton of ores.

   • Some of the most powerful great axes include Scythe (DMG: 14.25; Attack Speed: 0.95 seconds; Attack Range: 9) and Double Battle Axe (DMG: 15.75; Attack Speed: 1.05 seconds; Attack Range: 9). Try the following recipes to potentially generate a great axe:

1. Straight swords are less powerful, but faster and easier to craft than S-tier weapons. Not all straight swords are created equal, but they tend to have great attack speed and a decent range. They also require far fewer materials to craft than the more powerful weapons in The Forge, making them an excellent option for players who haven’t advanced super far into the game.

   • The best straight sword is Chaos (DMG: 9.75; Attack Speed: 0.5 seconds; Attack Range: 8), with Cutlass (DMG: 9.375; Attack Speed: 0.66; Attack Range: 8) being a close second. Try the following recipes to potentially generate a straight sword:

1. Katanas are similar to straight swords, with slightly better attack range. Katanas are well-balanced weapons that fall solidly into the A-Tier. They’re fast (although some of the better straight swords have the edge when it comes to attack speed), do a decent amount of damage, and have an excellent attack range. Like straight swords, they’re also relatively easy to craft, even if you haven’t collected a huge number of rare ores.

   • Uchigatana (DMG: 8.5; Attack Speed: 0.6 seconds; Attack Range: 9) and Tachi (DMG: 8.93; Attack Speed: 0.63 seconds; Attack Range: 9) are both excellent weapons. Try the following recipes to potentially generate a katana:

1. These short-range weapons do a healthy dose of damage. They’re also pretty fast. If you enjoy fisticuffs, gauntlets are a solid choice, and they are easy to craft without a lot of rare ores. Like straight swords, they’re variable in quality, but the best ones are considered A-Tier.

   • The best gauntlets are Boxing Gloves (DMG: 8; Attack Speed: 0.59 seconds; Attack Range: 6) and Relevator (DMG: 9.6; Attack Speed: 0.69 seconds; Attack Range: 6). Try the following recipes to potentially generate gauntlets:
