Integer (noun) – số nguyên

Khái niệm

Số nguyên là các số không có phần thập phân hoặc phân số, bao gồm số nguyên dương (1, 2, 3,..), số nguyên âm (-1, -2, -3,..) và số 0. Tập hợp các số nguyên được ký hiệu bằng chữ ℤ.

Một số quy tắc tính toán liên quan đến số nguyên:

1. Tổng của hai số nguyên dương là một số nguyên dương, ví dụ: 15 + 3 = 18.

2. Tổng của hai số nguyên âm là một số nguyên âm, ví dụ: (-15) + (-3) = -18.

3. Tích của hai số nguyên dương là một số nguyên dương, ví dụ: 15 . 3 = 45.

4. Tích của hai số nguyên âm là một số nguyên dương, ví dụ: (-15) . (-3) = 45. 

5. Tích của một số nguyên âm và nguyên dương là một số nguyên âm, ví dụ: (-15) . 3 = -45. 

6. Tổng của một số nguyên và số đối của nó bằng không, ví dụ: 3 + (-3) = 0.

7. Tích của một số nguyên và số nghịch đảo của nó bằng 1 hoặc -1, ví dụ: 3 . (1/3) = 1.

Phép cộng, trừ và nhân hai số nguyên luôn cho ra một số nguyên khác. Tuy nhiên, phép chia hai số nguyên không phải lúc nào cũng cho ra một số nguyên.

Even (adjective): số chẵn

Khái niệm / Định nghĩa

Trong toán học, một số chẵn là số nguyên chia hết cho 2, tức là số có thể viết dưới dạng 2n, trong đó n cũng là một số nguyên.

Số 0 cũng được xem là số chẵn dù có tính chất đặc biệt hơn những con số khác. Đó là bởi vì khi 0 chia cho 2, ta được kết quả bằng 0, không dư nên theo định nghĩa toán học, 0 là số chẵn.

Một số tính chất tính toán liên quan đến số chẵn:

1. Tổng của hai số chẵn là một số chẵn, ví dụ: 2 + 4 = 6.

2. Hiệu của hai số chẵn là một số chẵn, ví dụ: 4 - 2 = 2.

3. Tích của một số chẵn với bất kỳ số nguyên nào cũng là số chẵn, ví dụ: 4 . 3 = 12.

4. Bình phương của một số chẵn là một số chẵn, ví dụ: $2^2$ = 4.

5. Trong bất kỳ dãy số nguyên liên tiếp nào có độ dài chẵn n, số lượng số chẵn và số lẻ cũng bằng nhau là $\frac{n}{2}$

1. If Ms. Huế wants to make a revenue of at least 500,000 VND per day, and we know she sells 3 bowls of bún bò, what is the minimum number of bowls of phở she needs to sell? (The number must be an integer.)

2. Ms. Huế wants to expand her menu, adding bánh cuốn at 30,000 VND per serving. The cost for her to make a serving of bánh cuốn is 20,000 VND. How many servings of bánh cuốn will she have to sell if she earns 350,000 VND of profit just from just selling this dish?

Exercise 2: The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5,…). Hoa is a botanist studying a rare species of flowers that follows the Fibonacci sequence in the number of petals. She finds a flower with 21 petals and another with 34 petals.

1. If the pattern continues, how many petals should the next flower in the sequence have?

2. Hoa plants a garden with 5 flowers, each having a number of petals from the Fibonacci sequence (starting from 3 and not greater than 55). The total number of petals in her garden is 98. What are the possible numbers of flowers for each type?

Exercise 2: In a neighborhood in Vietnam, even-numbered houses are on one side of the street. The houses on that side are numbered consecutively with even numbers, starting from house number 2 up to house number 60.

1. How many even-numbered houses are on that side of the street?

2. If each house number that ends in the digit 4 has 4 windows facing the street, and the rest have 2 windows, how many windows in total face the street on the even-numbered side?
