Sau ba tháng liên tiếp tăng trưởng, doanh số thị trường ô tô Việt Nam đã giảm sâu trong tháng cuối năm 2024, chỉ đạt 31.598 chiếc, giảm 29%.
Hiệp hội các nhà sản xuất ô tô Việt Nam (VAMA) mới đây đã công bố doanh số bán hàng của các thành viên trong tháng 12/2024. Theo đó, tổng doanh số ô tô Việt Nam trong tháng đạt 31.598 chiếc, giảm 29% so với tháng trước.
Về xuất xứ, doanh số xe lắp ráp trong nước đạt 12.862 xe, giảm mạnh 49%, trong khi xe nhập khẩu nguyên chiếc giảm nhẹ 2% so với tháng 11/2024, đạt 18.736 xe.
Mặc dù vậy, tổng doanh số lũy kế trong năm 2024 của các thành viên VAMA vẫn ghi nhận mức tăng trưởng 12,6%, với 340.142 chiếc. Trong đó, xe du lịch tăng 12%, xe thương mại tăng 15%, và xe chuyên dụng tăng 32%.

TC Group, the manufacturer and distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Vietnam, also saw a decline in sales in December 2024, with 8,316 units sold, down 19.3% compared to the previous month. The drop in sales was observed across most of its vehicle models.
Among them, the Hyundai Accent, despite a 9.3% drop, remains the brand's top performer with 1,861 units delivered to customers. The Hyundai Tucson came second with 970 units sold, down 38.7%. Sales of the Hyundai Creta also saw a significant decrease, with 901 units sold, down 32.2%.
The Hyundai Santa Fe sold 829 units, down 31.2%; the Hyundai Grand i10 reached 751 units, down 27.4%; the Hyundai Venue sold 566 units, down 17.9%. The Stargazer and Custin were the only models to record growth in sales, with 704 and 444 units sold, increasing by 50.4% and 12.4%, respectively, compared to the previous month.
The Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Elantra sold 191 and 146 units, respectively, both showing a decrease compared to the previous month. Sales of commercial vehicles also declined, totaling 921 units.
The sales downturn for VAMA and TC Group in December 2024 was anticipated. This period marks the end of Decree 109, with most customers rushing to purchase in November to take advantage of the double promotion benefits.
In addition to VAMA and TC Group, VinFast also reported a record-breaking sales figure for December, with over 20,000 vehicles delivered to customers. The two best-selling models, VF 3 and VF 5, reached 8,800 and 4,900 units sold, respectively. These were the two best-selling models in December and for the entire year of 2024.
The impressive rise of VinFast electric vehicle models has pushed once-dominant sales leaders such as the Mitsubishi Xpander, Ford Ranger, and Mazda CX-5 further down the ranking of the best-selling cars of 2024.
VinFast's total sales for 2024 led the market with over 87,000 units sold, surpassing Toyota, which sold 68,000 vehicles, and Hyundai, which secured the third spot with 67,168 successful sales.
