Có hiệu lực từ ngày 1 tháng 6 năm 2014, Hội đồng Thành phố Penang sẽ đánh thuế Hội đồng địa phương 3 MYR / phòng / đêm đối với khách sạn 4 và 5 sao và 2 MYR / phòng / đêm đối với khách sạn 0 đến 3 sao. Xếp hạng sao của chỗ nghỉ sẽ phù hợp với xếp hạng của Hội đồng địa phương và nếu xếp hạng khác với trang web, xếp hạng của Hội đồng địa phương sẽ được áp dụng. Effective 1 June 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4- and 5-star hotels and MYR 2 per room per night for 0- to 3-star hotels. The property’s star rating will be in accordance to the rating from the Local Council, and should the rating differ from the website, the Local Council rating will apply.
