A Family-Friendly Stay with Room for Improvement
I would rate my overall experience at this hotel as 4 stars primarily because I really appreciated the Kid Club, the swimming pool equipped with a slide for children, and the spacious outdoor play area that features slides. The atmosphere was refreshing and breezy, given its proximity to the sea. This place is truly ideal for families with small kids, as they can have plenty of fun and entertainment. However, I found it slightly inconvenient for elderly guests since there is quite a bit of walking involved to access various amenities. In our room, the bathtub was designed only for lying down and did not have a standing option, plus it was positioned quite high. My mother-in-law, who is older, struggled to get in and almost fell in the process. On a positive note, the male staff who drove us around were very enthusiastic and helpful. However, I noticed some issues with the front desk staff. One individual, who was stationed at the welcome drink counter, was in such a hurry that he accidentally bumped into an elderly lady's walking cane, which fortunately didn’t result in a serious accident, but it was a close call. Additionally, our room key was valid for three nights, but on the second day, it inexplicably expired, leaving us locked out when we stepped outside. Both rooms occupied by our family faced this same problem, and it took us about 20 minutes and two phone calls before we received assistance. Thankfully, when the staff finally came to help, they were also quite eager to resolve the issue and brought us new keys. The hotel itself is relatively new; however, for some reason, there was a musty odor present that was quite off-putting. Upon entering the room, it felt as if someone had just moved out, and the air was heavy with that lingering smell. The elevators were consistently dirty and wet due to the constant flow of guests coming from and going to the pool, making them slippery and potentially hazardous. Our room was situated directly opposite the outdoor emergency stairs, and the iron bars between the stairs were rather large and posed a risk for small children. I found myself holding my breath each time my child opened the door and rushed out; it was truly nerve-wracking. Regarding the food, I would rate it at 3 stars. The selection was rather limited, and during our two-day stay, there weren’t many new dishes introduced. Specifically, the seasoned broths were disappointingly bland; both the beef and chicken pho were extremely flavorless. The room rate during Tet was 2.5 million, and perhaps given that price point, one shouldn't expect top-notch service or amenities. Consequently, I settled on a total rating of 4 stars for our experience here.
