Premier Inn Wirral (Childer Thornton)
New Chester Rd, United Kingdom
"This location is really lucky their staff are so nice! We arrived to lots of smiles and a friendly welcome. The room was as expected but the bed for our daughter wasn't made up, no big deal, we asked at reception and they confirmed they'd sort it while we were at dinner (which they did so no complaints there, these things just happen sometimes.) Eating arrangements are a little odd. There's an open door near reception which we entered, only to realise it was the back of the pub, so you have to walk through to be seated. Takes some getting used to and is quite confusing. This also means you have to walk past the soft play, which is lit up on the TV but padlocked. Confusing for our 4 year old. Might be best to just get rid of that ASAP or staff it as it's a real draw and would've been well used by us. Dinner was fine on the evening, understaffed but they were very helpful. Food was just okay to be honest. Breakfast was where we struggled. The staff again were lovely, but unfortunately the food was stone cold and clearly undercooked. Luckily we're vegetarian so no one got sick, but I couldn't really eat it. Again there was a lack of staff so rather than run the risk of sending it back, I left it and had the continental option which was limited but as expected. If you asked my daughter though, who was here on a birthday trip, she'd say it was amazing. The lady who checked us in brought her a card and some chocolates and everyone wished her happy birthday. She felt really special and we do appreciate that. I hope Premier Inn up their own standards to meet those of their employees! Better organised restaurant, some kitchen support and some thought on the now apparently defunct soft play."
