We were surprised by this place. To reach it you arrive to restaurant terrace and than you call them to send a boat for you. It is necessary to reach opposite side of river. What you get? Nature, quite and calm place right in the city. Perfect for short getaway and to recharge batteries. Excellent service, perfect English. We shall return for sure and recommend to all looking for quick getaway place from city to try this one.

The outdoor landscaping is beautiful. This place is super relaxing. Great place to be close to nature for a few days.

The location is not in downtown but it's an excellent getaway for those who seeking for quietness.

Water pressure in the bath tube is very low. The resort should advertise that the location is on the other side of the river and the only access is by boat.

Excellent staff. Speaking English so you will have very good comunication. Helpful. Located in city but you get to enjoy nature and silence there. So wanderful

Beautiful quiet oasis in bustling HCMC. Room was beautiful- comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom. View from all windows stunning & green. Breakfast each morning was delicious and incorporated with the variety of fresh fruit growing on the property. We enjoyed eating in the garden each morning. Our very own private traditional wooden boat on call to make the short trip over the river to Thao Dien restaurants and nightlife was a nice touch and gives the feeling of returning to your own special hideaway after spending a busy day in the city. During our stay the retreat was fully booked and we hardly noticed any other guests around, you definitely have a lot of privacy if you need a quiet escape. Very special thank you to the staff who all went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be returning to stay at Saigon riverside retreat again. I highly recommend staying here, I’m so glad we did! Also the pictures are 100% accurate, the rooms and garden really is that beautiful! Thank you again to all the staff - Yarran & Daniel

I really wanted to love Saigon Riverside Retreat and I was very much looking forward to staying there. We stayed 2 nights. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: the room was small, but featured a huge bed which was really comfy. I loved the room style too, large windows and wood. The shower room, except for the door and soap mentioned below looled lovely. The breakfast was good (note the choice is limited - no buffet - but what you're given is great). The staff, particularly Tom, is friendly (and funny) and they do their best to make you feel at home. The location by the river is very peaceful and you have three lovely doggos (they won't bother you) on the property. Cons: well, it's in the title, but it is truly a retreat. There's no much walking distance (we went to ome restaurant 8 minutes walk away which was good) but that's about it. So your options are... eat from the limited menu, or order from across the river. The food from across the river is hit and miss, some great stuff but also very mediocre... The retreats food is good... but extremely poor value for money. And when it's your most convenient option, it's a bit rich, milking your guests. Onluy solution then is to take the (free) boat ride and cross the river to "civilization". We also had a bit of an issue on the day we went for an excursion, long story short, despite planning it with the staff the previous day and pre-ordering breakfast, nothing was ready, my boyfriend didnt have time to eat and the taxi was late. Very stressful, but in fairness the staff did apologize. Most tour companies have free pick-up from District 1, so something for you to bear in mind if you want to make your life easier. Room wise, we didn't enjoy the see through door to the toilet (there's a curtain of beads but that doesn't hide anything) and the soap and shampoo dispensers are little pots which felt unhygienic... am I meant to scoop the stuff directly out or dip my fingers? Also note the lake view is actually a pond view. All in all, we wouldn't stay again if the aim is to discover Ho Chi Minh as it's not practical. If you're looking for a place to stay put and chill out, then that will probably work... as long as you're not lazy to cross the river ! Wish I could have given 3.5, but it doesn't quite stretch as a 4.

A gorgeous, well maintained wooden house. It really felt like home while we were there. Photo opportunities at every corner. Great food, great location and ferry service. Very close to Noirphoto gallery and Riverside cafe. I would recommend Riverside Retreat to my friends and would come back again.
