Chúng tôi ở tại khách sạn một đêm trước khi chuyển đến Đồng Văn, khách sạn trông khá mới - có thể chỗ ở đã được cải thiện - nhân viên thân thiện. Khách sạn nằm gần trung tâm thành phố nên rất dễ đi bộ xung quanh vào ban đêm. Hầu hết các khách sạn ở Hà Giang không sắp xếp bữa ăn sáng nên bạn nên chuẩn bị một mình.

Stayed in this hotel 8 months ago, and finally moved because of the noise. Since then, however, conditions have improved a lot, and I can now recommend this hotel as the (to my knowledge) best in town. It has been renovated, new rooms have been added and cleanliness has improved much. There was no noise from construction anymore. However, noise from the hall and from noisy guests can still be a nuisance, especially in the lower floors and in rooms close to the stairs. Single bed rooms go for 250K, more spacious ones for 350K (recommended) and the VIP Suite for 600K.

We stayed for 1 night here. Our room had 2 twin beds. The room appeared to be recently updated and was clean. They were doing construction above us, but stopped this after dark. Other reviews talk about leaky plumbing but we did not have this issue. There was a western shower (not electric) and toilet. The beds were incredibly hard (uncomfortably so). If felt just like the box spring. In fact, these beds were the hardest we experienced in Vietnam. The hotel is in a decent location with food and little shops within walking distance. If you're driving yourself there, the entrance to the parking lot is through the lobby. This is very strange and potentially dangerous if you're not paying attention. The wifi was reliable. AC worked very well. They do not have breakfast. Overall, the room was nice and clean despite the super hard beds. We would stay again, we would just ask for a mattress cover or another mattress.

Rooms are spacious, not very clean. Interior is old fashioned and well torn. Little support from staff, as they do not speak English. Noisy from the road, from other guests and construction work on the top floor. Prices range from 300,000 to 600,000.

We were booked into this hotel by Insider journeys so had no option but to stay there. We expected a basic hotel but not one with a leaking toilet, filthy walls, doors revolting sticky and dirty, a sheet that didn't cover the mattress and which had cigarette burns.

Pros: Location is good. Room is very spacious and provides standard amenities. Wifi is good. Price is very cheap (around 350.000 VND to 400.000 VND per room per night). Cons: Cleanness is poor. Drainage of our bathroom is bad and it stinks. There is no curtain in our room. Conclusion: It is OK to stay here if you just need a cheap place to sleep. Do not expect too much as it's just a guesthouse in a small city.

We stay here 2 nights before and after going to Dong Van. Its location is ok, 3 minutes walking to the city square, also to the Pho Giang 511 restaurant- where bikers often have breakfast before heading Dong Van. Good local food can be found nearby: banh cuon trung, au tau poridge, thang den... It's also near Thang motorbike rental shop. The hotel room in building A is ok, nice and clean, 17$/night. Don't stay in building B though it's only 10 $. There, the beds are super hard, bathroom equipment looks like almost broken. We arrive quite late in the day so there is no laundry service. We wash clothes by ourselves then use the spinning machine at the backyard to help before hanging clothes for drying

Staff very nice, although they speak just a few words in english. Place seems old. Not too old, just old. For 250000 you get small double room (or 200000 for single) with AC, fan, wifi, hot water, towels - basically all you need for a night or two before you go to Dong Van. Beds in some rooms are rock hard and in the others nice and soft. If you don't like it hard, ask for another room. Staff can help you with the bus to Dong Van - just tell them you want to go to Dong Van at 5:00am the next morning and they will make sure the bus picks you up from the hotel (no extra charge)! They can also help you if you want to rent a motorbike, but their rental service is expensive - 200000 per day for standard Honda Wave. Walk around, ask around and you will get one for 150000, probably even less than that. Be careful - small water bottles provided in the room are not free. They call it a "mini bar" and ask you to pay 10000 for each 0,5l bottle. Go to the store next door and get 1.5l for the same price.

The rooms are ok, the TV has 1 or 2 English channels. But floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in the last couple of days as there were a lot if dead mosquitos everywhere on the floor. Staff want very friendly and didn't soak English (this is very common in this area though). Somehow we managed to communicate but as i found out later they gave me some wrong information. Firstly they tried to sell me the permit for 300.000 dong even though the price is only 220.000. Then they told me that i have to get the permit in Ha giang which is not true! You can still get it at the police station in dong van for the real price.

We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The bed, while firm, wasn't as awful as some reviewers made it out to be. Bathroom had ample hot water. The wifi was fast and the cable tv had a couple of channels in English. The heater worked great; room was spacious and we had a lizard living there as well. Our room faced the back garden area so it was quiet until people started using the drive through lobby at about 6 am. Reception was helpful and we managed to arrange ha giang permits with them. They spoke some English; we used a little phrase book and a little google translate and were able to communicate well. Location was a little away from the town center (quieter) but still an easy walk to anywhere.

I know that Vietnamese beds tend to be hard but the bed at the guesthouse was hardest I've ever slept on and a sheet which hardly covered the base of the bed. Something leaked in the bathroom so water everywhere. Long dark hairs on our bedroom floor and a very dubious looking mat against the bathroom door. No sleep because of Vietnamese male tourists who shouted in the corridor all night. On our second visit two days later we were given the same room and I was given a second quilt to lie on which made it much better but alerted staff to the water on the floor, and a plumber was called to the leak from the wash basin then I realised there was also a leak from the loo. I gave up at that point and just looked forward to moving on. I appreciate good accommodation to western standards is hard to find in this beautiful area but they can do something about cleanliness.

My daughter and I stayed in two adjoining rooms as part of a nine day northern border tour with Haivenu Tours. Drive through lobby was a novelty, but is common in Vietnam, especially up north. Staff were friendly, although they spoke very little English. Both rooms, with ensuite bathrooms, were clean and spacious, although basic and old-fashioned. Rooms were air-conditioned, with satellite TV and adequate bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The beds were extremely hard, as usual, but as we both had twin beds, we used the extra duvets for padding. Included breakfast was fresh, with baguettes, scrambled eggs, fruit, tea and coffee. Location was pretty good, although quite a walk in the dark across the bridge to the town "center".

Basic accommodation, but clean, with ensuite bathrooms . The main drawback is that reception staff don't speak much English (indeed, there is no reason they should, as this hotel is mainly used by Vietnamese). However, they were very helpful and tried hard to interpret our basic miming. The beds were very hard, but once we had managed to convey that, extra duvets were produced so we could use them as mattress pads, and that was fine. It must be the only hotel in the world with a drive through lobby - cars drive through the lobby to park behind the hotel - watch that you don't get run down!
